About the team
Infrastructure BizOps ensures The Trade Desk's technology infrastructure scales efficiently and predictably to meet business demand — maximizing performance while optimizing cost. We bridge engineering needs and financial reality, owning long-range capacity planning, commercial and sourcing strategy, and the full infrastructure P&L across a portfolio of several hundred million dollars in annual spend.
About the role
You will own the on-prem compute (Foundation) product line — the financial plan, the commercial strategy, and the results. This role translates engineering demand into a fully- costed, multi-year capacity and CapEx plan, leads hardware and capacity sourcing, and structures the large commitments behind our on-prem buildouts. You are the commercial and financial owner for one of the most capital-intensive areas of the business.
What you'll do
• Own on-prem capacity planning — translate demand into server and rack requirements, power and space envelopes, performance-per-watt and density assumptions, and a $/QPS driver tree.
• Build the multi-year CapEx and OpEx plan for the Foundation line, including CapEx timing and fixed-asset lifecycle (in-service, retirements, excess and obsolescence).
• Lead hardware and capacity sourcing: OEM/VAR negotiations, supply-chain management, delivery and rack turn-ups, and decommissioning strategy.
• Structure large on-prem commitments — colocation and hardware agreements and, where relevant, structured transactions such as sale-leasebacks — modeling total cost of ownership and risk.
• Run the on-prem FP&A cycle: AOP, reforecasts, variance analysis, and accounting-close support.
• Partner with Datacenter and Production Engineering, Finance, Legal, and Procurement to execute the on-prem strategy from plan to deployment.
What you bring
Required
• 5–7+ years in finance, infrastructure finance, strategic finance, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated ability to structure and model large financial commitments, with strong structured-finance and quantitative modeling skills.
• Familiarity with on-prem infrastructure buildouts — datacenter, server and hardware sourcing, supply chain, or capacity planning.
• Strategic judgment: a track record of owning ambiguous, high-stakes decisions independently.
• Clear, senior-register communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred
• Prior experience at a Hyperscaler or Neocloud, or in datacenter / infrastructure operations.
• 2+ years in investment banking, private equity, or similar
• Exposure to structured real-estate or asset-finance transactions (e.g., sale-leaseback, lease structuring).
• Experience operating as the financial and commercial partner to an engineering organization.
