Brand Art Director

The Trade Desk is changing the way global brands and their agencies advertise to audiences around the world. How? With a media buying platform that helps brands deliver a more insightful and relevant ad experience for consumers –– and sets a new standard for global reach, accuracy, and transparency. We are proud of the culture we have built. We value the unique experiences and perspectives that each person brings to The Trade Desk, and we are committed to fostering inclusive spaces where everyone can bring their authentic selves to work every day.

So, if you are talented, driven, creative, and eager to join a dynamic, globally-connected team, then we want to talk!

We’re looking for a Brand Art Director based in New York City to join our Creative team. Our ideal candidate is conceptual, collaborative, and most of all curious, with experience working across a diverse range of global creative/design initiatives. Above all, you think in brand systems — energized by how a visual identity scales, how design decisions connect across touchpoints, and how great work compounds into something unmistakably cohesive.

If that’s you, we’d love to meet you.

What you’ll do:

  • Shape and scale The Trade Desk’s visual brand identity — creating work that sets the standards and raises the bar across every channel and format we show up in.
  • Partner with our Brand, Product Marketing, Digital, Social and Events teams to create brand-consistent creative across campaigns, programs, and initiatives.
  • Own the creative for a high volume of events, campaigns, and programs — from large-scale global experiences and industry conferences to product and education initiatives like Edge Academy. This means concepting, art directing, and executing across environmental design, digital advertising, social, video, and web.
  • Ensure brand consistency across all touchpoints — contributing to the development, documentation, and stewardship of our visual identity and brand system.
  • This is an Individual Contributor role, and you will balance working independently and in close collaboration with the creative director, art directors, copywriters, designers, editors, and producers.

Who you are:

  • 6-10 years of experience focused on developing creative work at an agency or in-house for an established global B2B or B2C brand, with at least 2 of those years leading/concepting projects and working with senior leadership.
  • A brand thinker with range — your portfolio leads with identity and systems work, but you’re equally comfortable executing across campaigns, events, social, and digital.
  • Confident presenting your work and rationale to stakeholders — you can walk a room through creative decisions, hold a point of view under pressure, and advocate for the work without being precious about it.
  • Fluent in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Figma, with working knowledge of or active curiosity about AI tools — and how they can accelerate process, push creative, and evolve brand systems.
  • A strong design eye — typography, composition, hierarchy, color — with taste that shows in everything you make.
  • You make it easy. You’re as organized and reliable as you are talented — you deliver on time, listen well, and make the people around you better. When creative direction shifts or scope changes, you adapt without drama and find a way to make the work stronger for it.
  • Experience in motion graphics, on-set art direction, and/or working with web developers is a plus. #LI-LM2
