Who we are:
Our platform empowers the world’s leading brands and agencies with the data, technology, and transparency they need to deliver more relevant, insightful, and performance-driven experiences. As commerce signals become foundational to modern media, we are building the ecosystem that powers this next era.
We are equally proud of the culture behind our innovation, one that values diverse perspectives, fosters inclusion, and enables every individual to do their best work.
If you’re passionate about shaping the future of commerce media and thrive in high-impact, high-ownership environments, we should talk.
About the role:
As Director, Data Partnerships, focused on Commerce, you will play a critical leadership role in building and scaling the commerce data ecosystem that fuels The Trade Desk’s next phase of growth.
Sitting at the intersection of retail media, commerce signals, and programmatic activation, you will define and execute partnership strategies with leading commerce platforms, retailers, and next-generation technology providers. Your work will directly enable advertisers to connect media exposure to real-world purchasing behavior, thus closing the loop between marketing and sales.
You will be a key voice on the Data Partnerships team, shaping how we evolve our data marketplace to a commerce-enabled media platform.
What you’ll do:
- Own and scale a portfolio of strategic commerce partnerships
- Build and deepen relationships across retail media networks, commerce data providers, transaction aggregators, and emerging identity and signal providers
- Help define the commerce data strategy particularly in emerging verticals (e.g., travel)
- Identify high-impact opportunities that unlock deterministic purchase signals, enabling closed-loop measurement
- Lead negotiations and design scalable commercial frameworks in collaboration with legal, product, finance, and technical teams
- Partner with sales and account teams to translate complex commerce capabilities into compelling client narratives that drive adoption and revenue
- Act as the voice of the partner ecosystem internally, informing roadmap priorities across audience, measurement, identity, and activation capabilities
- Ensure partner performance and reporting integrity while continuously improving processes that support a rapidly growing ecosystem.
- Maintain a deep understanding of the evolving commerce media landscape, including retail media networks, clean rooms, and data collaboration trends and educate internal stakeholders.
Who you are:
- Commerce media leader with 8+ years of experience across retail media, commerce data, ad tech, or adjacent ecosystems
- Proven track record of building and scaling strategic partnerships that drive measurable revenue impact
- Deep understanding of how commerce signals (transaction, purchase, SKU-level data) power targeting, measurement, and optimization
- Skilled negotiator with experience structuring complex, multi-stakeholder deals
- Equally strong in strategy and execution, able to set vision while operating effectively in the details
- Comfortable navigating matrixed, global organizations and influencing cross-functional stakeholders
- Strong commercial acumen with experience aligning partnerships to joint go-to-market and revenue outcomes
- Passionate about translating emerging capabilities into clear, compelling client value propositions
- Experienced people leader with a track record of developing high-performing teams
Why this role matters:
Commerce media is fundamentally reshaping the advertising landscape. The ability to connect ad exposure to transaction data is becoming the defining capability for modern marketers.
In this role, you will help build the partnerships and infrastructure that make that possible, positioning The Trade Desk at the center of the commerce-driven future of advertising.
