Client Services is the central function within TTD’s commercial org, comprising of both Account Management function: responsible for maintaining client relationships, partnering with agencies to grow existing accounts, support Business Development team in onboarding new clients, and Trading function: our platform experts responsible for training agencies and working with agencies and clients on optimizing, executing campaigns.
THE ROLE
The Trade Desk (TTD) is seeking an accomplished and exceptional General Manager, Client Service – Auto, to lead our strategy & relationships with the world’s leading Auto brands. This leader will own and be directly responsible for the growth of one of The Trade Desk’s most critical verticals – understanding Auto’s buying dynamics, a vision for cross-tier activation & measurement + influence our executive client and agency relationships.
This is a true GM-style role. This person will run Auto alongside their Business Development counterpart, creating a vision for our Auto GTM, building repeatable & scalable playbooks, focusing on driving Auto outcomes, influencing our product roadmap for cross-tier activation & measurement - while building a cohesive operating model across them.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Run the Business:
- Develop a multi-billion-dollar book of business, setting Auto-specific strategies that reflect distinct market dynamics across the category
- Balance near-term revenue delivery with durable, multi-year growth
- Make clear investment and prioritization decisions across the business
- Vision & Influence across Product Initiatives to expand Auto specific products and accelerate Growth
Own Actionable Executive Engagement:
- Serve as senior executive sponsor to C-suite clients, agencies, and holding companies
- Represent TTD externally with authority and clarity
- Represent our largest Auto customers from a product, marketing, data & measurement partnerships perspective
Build the Operating System:
- Establish consistent operating rhythms across Auto portfolios throughout North America
- Drive upselling rigor, pipeline quality, strategic cross-selling & resource allocation at scale
- Develop repeatable & scalable Auto playbook across all tiers
- Ensure leaders are aligned on priorities and driving accountability downstream
Build Leaders at Scale:
- Hire, develop, and retain senior leaders across regions and key customers
- Create clarity in org design, decision rights, and accountability
- Raise the bar on talent density and leadership maturity
QUALIFICATIONS
- 15+ years of experience in advertiser leadership or client service leadership roles with deep knowledge of programmatic ecosystems
- Proven track record of leading a $1B+ book of business with full accountability
- Strong commercial acumen, including understanding of marketing P&L, media planning and buying workflows & varied buying models of our customers
- Experience leading large, complex teams (40+ FTE) with strong IQ & EQ
- Exceptional fluency in the Automotive category, particularly in activation & measurement
- A leader in communicating & cross-functional navigation – cascading consistent messaging & accountability across all levels

The actual amount may differ based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and location. All employees may be eligible to become The Trade Desk shareholders through eligibility for stock-based compensation grants, which are awarded to employees based on company and individual performance. The Trade Desk also offers other compensation depending on the role such as variable compensation-based incentives and commissions. Plus, expected benefits for this role include comprehensive healthcare (medical, dental, and vision) with premiums paid in full for employees and dependents, retirement benefits such as a 401k plan and company match, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, well-being benefits, reimbursement for certain tuition expenses, parental leave, sick time of 1 hour per 30 hours worked, vacation time for full-time employees up to 120 hours thru the first year and 160 hours thereafter, and around 13 paid holidays per year. At the Trade Desk, Base Salary is one part of our competitive total compensation and benefits package and is determined using a salary range.
