What You’ll Do:

For the General Manager, Public Relations position, we are seeking a seasoned PR leader to oversee and strengthen our global public relations team, focused on executional excellence, compelling storytelling, and measurable impact. In this role, you will:

  • Own the day-to-day strategy and execution of The Trade Desk’s global PR efforts.
  • Establish clear processes, planning, and operational standards across regions.
  • Oversee media relations strategy, strengthening relationships with top-tier, business, tech, advertising, and trade media.
  • Ensure proactive storytelling and consistent messaging that reinforces The Trade Desk’s industry leadership and innovation.
  • Support executive communications and thought leadership.
  • Support issues communications, anticipating risks and guiding response strategy.
  • Lead a high-performing PR team, setting clear direction and performance expectations.
  • Partner cross-functionally with marketing, legal, business and client teams to ensure alignment and execution of communications strategies.
  • Drive accountability and measurable outcomes across the team.

Who You Are:

  • A seasoned public relations leader who brings 15+ years of deep experience in ad tech, media, and technology, ideally within a complex, fast-moving, global environment.
  • A leader with significant people leadership across multiple regions and experience operating at the executive level.
  • A strategic thinker with strong business insight who can translate company strategy into clear, compelling external narratives.
  • A trusted executive partner who communicates with confidence, credibility, and sound judgment—especially in moments of ambiguity or change.
  • A media relations expert with a proven ability to influence at scale.
  • A decisive leader who thrives in complex situations and can effectively manage competing priorities and diverse stakeholder needs.
  • A leader with significant people management, building and coaching a high-performing team across multiple regions and experience operating at the executive level.
  • Highly collaborative, able to build trust and strong relationships across all levels of the organization and with external partners.
  • Comfortable operating with autonomy and accountability, balancing independence with alignment to company goals and values.

The actual amount may differ based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and location. All employees may be eligible to become The Trade Desk shareholders through eligibility for stock-based compensation grants, which are awarded to employees based on company and individual performance. The Trade Desk also offers other compensation depending on the role such as variable compensation-based incentives and commissions. Plus, expected benefits for this role include comprehensive healthcare (medical, dental, and vision) with premiums paid in full for employees and dependents, retirement benefits such as a 401k plan and company match, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, well-being benefits, reimbursement for certain tuition expenses, parental leave, sick time of 1 hour per 30 hours worked, vacation time for full-time employees up to 120 hours thru the first year and 160 hours thereafter, and around 13 paid holidays per year. At the Trade Desk, Base Salary is one part of our competitive total compensation and benefits package and is determined using a salary range. The base salary range for this role is $221,200—$405,600 USD
