Collaborates with: Client Services, Business Development, Data Science, Technical Account Management, Global Advertiser, Product Management

Role Overview

We are seeking a strategic and technically adept Senior Director, Marketing Science to lead advanced measurement initiatives across our EMEA client portfolio. This role bridges the gap between client-side data science teams and The Trade Desk’s internal capabilities, ensuring our measurement solutions are tailored, trusted, and outcome-driven.

You will serve as a senior thought leader, guiding sophisticated advertisers in building the next generation of measurement frameworks across travel, e-commerce, and performance-driven verticals. You’ll champion a continuous “test–learn–iterate” approach, developing structured learning agendas and roadmaps that help clients evolve their measurement maturity over time. Combining scientific rigour, commercial acumen, and storytelling, you’ll help clients unlock value from their programmatic investments through The Trade Desk’s open internet platform.

What You'll Do:
  • Lead Measurement Strategy: Define and evolve the marketing science agenda for key enterprise accounts, shaping how clients measure and optimise media performance.
  • Bridge Client & Product Teams:
  • Client Consultancy & Relationship Management: Serve as a trusted advisor to key clients, building strong, collaborative relationships and providing strategic guidance across campaigns and measurement initiatives.
  • Tailor and Validate Frameworks: Align The Trade Desk’s methodologies with client-specific testing (e.g. geo-split, holdout, conversion lift) and lead statistical evaluations comparing performance to other platforms.
  • Advance Methodology & Optimisation: Champion Bayesian experimentation, causal inference, and incrementality testing; collaborate with Product and Data Science to enhance incremental conversion optimisation and automation.
  • Translate Insight into Impact: Turn complex analytical outputs into clear, actionable recommendations that influence marketing and investment strategy.
  • Drive Thought Leadership: Develop white papers, best-practice guides, and client narratives that demonstrate The Trade Desk’s measurement expertise. Represent TTD in industry and client forums as a trusted expert.
  • Develop Talent & Capability: Mentor junior analytics talent and help build a Marketing Science Centre of Excellence within EMEA.
  • Integrate Across Channels: Work with clients on their nuanced approaches to holistic measurement, building strategies and frameworks to connect the dots between attribution, incrementality, and Marketing Mix Modeling (MMM).
Who You Are:
  • 10+ years’ experience in marketing science, data science, or advanced analytics within digital advertising, ad tech, or marketing technology.
  • Deep expertise in incrementality testing, attribution, causal inference, and predictive analytics.
  • Proficiency in Python, R, and SQL for statistical analysis and data manipulation.
  • Experience working with large-scale, high-frequency digital media data (e.g. impressions, conversions, bids).
  • Exceptional communicator with the ability to simplify complex analytics for senior stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated success in client-facing, cross-functional, and matrixed global environments.
  • Proven ability to build trust and alignment between marketing, analytics, and technology teams.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience with travel, e-commerce, or performance-driven clients.
  • Background in platforms such as Meta, TikTok, Google, or Amazon Ads, or similar measurement-mature environments.
  • Prior involvement in building or scaling marketing science functions within commercial or client-facing organisations.
  • Familiarity with geo-lift, conversion lift, and “do no harm” testing frameworks.
