What we do:

The Global Commercial Finance team plays a critical role in supporting revenue-generating activities by ensuring deals are structured in a financially sound and compliant manner. We collaborate with Sales, Operations, Legal, FP&A, Revenue Accounting, and other cross-functional partners to review and guide complex, non-standard deals. Our goal is to align deals with company policies, pricing guidelines, and ASC 606 revenue recognition standards while mitigating risk and improving margins.

What you'll do:

  • Lead and manage the New York Commercial Finance team, providing coaching and oversight for consistent, high-quality evaluations.
  • Review and structure complex, non-standard deals to ensure compliance with financial policies and strategic objectives; escalate high-risk issues as needed.
  • Evaluate customer contract escalations for completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Develop and implement scalable processes and internal controls for deal review and contract evaluation; train the team on these processes.
  • Maintain documentation on pricing policies, deal structures, and best practices.
  • Assess financial impact of deals in the pipeline, identify revenue triggers, and partner with Sales, FP&A, and Revenue Accounting for timely insights.
  • Drive initiatives to streamline operations, reduce cycle times, and improve collaboration with Sales and Finance teams.
  • Act independently on strategic projects, providing actionable recommendations to senior leadership.

Who you are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field; CPA or equivalent preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in Commercial Finance or Accounting, including 2+ years of people management.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP; technical accounting experience a plus.
  • Prior managerial experience required.
  • Familiarity with Contract Lifecycle Management systems (e.g., DocuSign CLM), Salesforce, CPQ tools, and ERP systems.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and implement scalable processes.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and tight deadlines.

The actual amount may differ based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and location. All employees may be eligible to become The Trade Desk shareholders through eligibility for stock-based compensation grants, which are awarded to employees based on company and individual performance. The Trade Desk also offers other compensation depending on the role such as sales-based incentives and commissions. Plus, expected benefits for this role include comprehensive healthcare (medical, dental, and vision) with premiums paid in full for employees and dependents, retirement benefits such as a 401k plan and company match, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, well-being benefits, reimbursement for certain tuition expenses, parental leave, sick time of 1 hour per 30 hours worked, vacation time for full-time employees up to 120 hours thru the first year and 160 hours thereafter, and around 13 paid holidays per year. At the Trade Desk, Base Salary is one part of our competitive total compensation and benefits package and is determined using a salary range. The base salary range for this role is $103,200—$189,200 USD
