The Trade Desk is growing, and we are seeking a team member to join our People Operations Team to deliver exceptional service to our Japan & South Korea employees. We are looking for a dynamic and experienced HR Practitioner to support our business in Japan and South Korea while managing both local and regional stakeholders. This role requires a strategic HR leader who is not only capable of aligning HR initiatives with business objectives but is also hands-on in executing HR programs and operations across the business. You will act as a trusted partner to business leaders, ensuring the integration of HR strategies that drive talent management, employee engagement, performance, and organizational growth.

What you'll do:

  • Act as the trusted advisor to employees and leaders across all levels, fostering strong relationships and building credibility through consistent, empathetic, and strategic support.
  • Proactively engage leaders to align on key people priorities, ensuring HR strategies are embedded in business planning and decision-making.
  • Serve as a trusted partner, leading resolution for complex employee queries and issues.
  • Collaborate with People Team experts to provide well-rounded support for people-related opportunities and challenges that align with business needs.
  • Champion performance enablement by guiding leaders in driving accountability, coaching for growth, and managing performance with clarity and fairness.
  • Act as a change agent, implementing People programs, initiatives, and frameworks to drive positive organizational change.
  • Identify emerging trends in employee sentiment and leadership needs, translating insights into data-backed strategies that enhance the employee experience.
  • Contribute to the development of global HR frameworks and lead design of tailored regional and market initiatives.
  • Recognize conflicts early and work with People Relations and People Development Partners to support productive dialogue and resolution strategies.
  • Apply deep knowledge of labor laws, regulations, and company policies to promote compliance in performance and behaviour.
  • Drive and lead results in solving complex employee issues with sensitivity, diplomacy and discretion.
  • Take a hands-on approach for all HR administration matters.

Who you are:

  • 10–15 years of progressive HR experience, including 5+ years in HR Business Partner roles.
  • Strong knowledge of Japan and South Korea employment laws.
  • Ability to be comfortable in managing hands on, administrative activities, whilst also executing on strategic requirements.
  • Proven ability to establish trust and credibility across all organizational levels, with a strong track record of partnering effectively with business stakeholders in Japan, South Korea and APAC region.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Japanese (and Korean a nice to have)
  • Experience managing performance management, resolving workplace conflicts, and change initiatives.
  • Ability to analyze data and metrics to inform decisions and improve outcomes.
  • A self-starter with a proactive, solution-oriented approach.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through ambiguity, manage multiple priorities, and drive results.
