Software Engineer II — Identity
The Identity team’s mission is to help advertisers reach audiences and measure campaign outcomes across omnichannel marketing strategies. We develop industry‑leading cross‑device graphs by leveraging identity signals from petabytes of data and applying these signals in real time across a trillion ad opportunities per day.
We also develop and maintain Unified ID 2.0, a privacy‑conscious, secure, and accurate identity standard for the digital advertising ecosystem.
Our Software Engineers are end‑to‑end owners who participate in designing, building, and delivering data‑focused products for our stakeholders.
At The Trade Desk, we build backend infrastructure with a focus on quality and scale. Whether we are building client‑facing applications, internal tools, or model pipelines for bidding optimization, we ensure our infrastructure and tools support high‑quality, efficient development.
We run distributed systems that operate 24/7 across global traffic and rely on a wide array of technologies to solve complex algorithmic, optimization, and scale challenges.

We are a global team with diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. You welcome different ideas, build from common ground, and foster both visible and invisible dimensions of diversity.
Who You AreOur culture goes deeper than just having fun together (though we do that well). Our engineers are trust‑builders, generous givers, scrappy problem solvers, and gritty pursuers of excellence.

Education:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. We understand that access to education varies — what matters most is your ability to contribute.
At The Trade Desk, you’ll have opportunities to explore a variety of technologies. You don’t need to know them all on day one — what matters is your ability to learn quickly, solve complex problems, and choose the right tools for the job. We’re not looking for people with all the answers — we’re looking for people who can invent answers that no one has thought of yet.
As an Equal Opportunity Employer, The Trade Desk is committed to creating an inclusive hiring experience where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
