Who we are:

As Director of People Advisory Partners for Corporate & Tech, you will lead a team of experienced HR professionals who serve as strategic partners to our corporate and technology business units. You will be responsible for translating enterprise-wide people strategies into actionable plans, enabling your team to deliver high-impact support to leaders and employees. This role is critical in driving consistency, elevating service delivery, and ensuring alignment with the broader People strategy as defined by the Senior Director of People Advisory Partners and People Operations Leadership.

You will serve as a connector between business needs and People team capabilities, ensuring your team is empowered to deliver proactive, strategic, and scalable solutions. You will also play a key role in coaching and developing your team, fostering a culture of excellence, inclusion, and continuous improvement.

What you'll do:

Team Leadership & Enablement:

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of People Advisory Partners aligned to corporate and tech functions.
  • Translate strategic direction from the Senior Director into clear priorities and execution plans for your team.
  • Foster a high-performing, inclusive team culture focused on collaboration, accountability, and service excellence.

Strategic Business Partnership:

  • Serve as a senior advisor to business leaders, helping them navigate complex talent challenges and organizational change.
  • Guide your team in building strong relationships with stakeholders, ensuring credibility and trust through consistent delivery.
  • Partner with Centers of Excellence (e.g., People Solutions, Talent, OD, Employee Experience, DEI, Total Rewards) to deliver integrated people solutions.

Operational Excellence & Service Delivery:

  • Ensure consistent execution of core people processes (e.g., performance management, talent reviews, org design) across supported functions.
  • Monitor team metrics, SLAs, and KPIs to identify trends, drive improvements, and ensure high-quality service.
  • Champion scalable practices and tools that enable efficient and effective team operations.

Change Leadership & Risk Mitigation:

  • Lead change management efforts across corporate and tech teams, supporting leaders through transformation and growth.
  • Partner with Employment Legal and People Relations to mitigate risk and ensure compliance with employment law.
  • Support conflict resolution strategies and guide your team in managing sensitive employee matters.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with People Development and other HR teams to ensure seamless support and shared insights.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of strategic employee programs, including engagement, performance, and learning initiatives.
  • Share business and people insights with the Senior Director to inform broader strategy and decision-making.

Who you are:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 10–13 years of progressive HR experience, including 5+ years in people leadership roles.
  • Strong background in employment law, particularly in New York and California; global experience a plus.
  • Proven success in leading HR teams and driving strategic talent initiatives in complex environments.
  • Deep understanding of corporate and tech business functions and their unique people needs.
  • Exceptional communication, coaching, and influencing skills across all levels of the organization.
  • Experience managing organizational design, performance management, and change initiatives.
  • Ability to analyze data and metrics to inform decisions and improve outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through ambiguity, manage multiple priorities, and drive results.

CO, CA, IL, NY, WA, and Washington DC residents only: In accordance with CO, CA, IL, NY, WA, and Washington DC law, the range provided is The Trade Desk's reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount may differ based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and location. All employees may be eligible to become The Trade Desk shareholders through eligibility for stock-based compensation grants, which are awarded to employees based on company and individual performance. The Trade Desk also offers other compensation depending on the role such as sales-based incentives and commissions. Plus, expected benefits for this role include comprehensive healthcare (medical, dental, and vision) with premiums paid in full for employees and dependents, retirement benefits such as a 401k plan and company match, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, well-being benefits, reimbursement for certain tuition expenses, parental leave, sick time of 1 hour per 30 hours worked, vacation time for full-time employees up to 120 hours thru the first year and 160 hours thereafter, and around 13 paid holidays per year. At the Trade Desk, Base Salary is one part of our competitive total compensation and benefits package and is determined using a salary range. The base salary range for this role is $137,300—$251,800 USD
